Magnesium Alloy Sheet  AZ61

Magnesium Alloy Sheet  AZ61

Magnesium Alloy Sheet  AZ61
It has been generally recognized, “As for the magnesium sheet, it is AZ31.” up to now, but we are now mass-producing AZ61 sheet by combining each process of casting by "GTC"(Gonda Twin-roll Casting System; originally developed by our own technology), rolling and grinding. AZ61 sheet is superior to AZ31 sheet in strength and corrosion resistance, and can be formed by press.

Excellent merits in AZ61 comparison with AZ31

Tensile strength is high
Corrosion resistance is superior
Possible to perform various finishing on its surface
Thermal stability of crystalline structure is excellent

(The crystalline structure does not enlarge easily even if AZ61 sheet is annealed)

Soaking Test of various magnesium alloys

Soaking test has done by using 3.4% salt water. We checked a surface condition of various casting sheets. We believe AZ61 shows better property than AZ31.

Examples for workpiece by AZ61 sheet

It is confirmed that it is possible to perform warm press forming for AZ61 as much as AZ31, moreover, also possible to perform plating and welding.
The sheet material, finished with rolling and grinding, of 0.5mm to 3.0mm in thickness of 600mm in width can be offered.
