Building Material from Magnesium

Building Material from Magnesium

In November, 2013, AZX612 (AZ61 + 2% calcium) with surface treatment was acquired “Noncombustible Material Approval” from Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) as a building material. These materials are fixed around the suspended ceiling for preventing the collapse at the time of disasters like earthquake. And wide usage of them like walls of buildings are most expected in the future.

It is essential to acquire “Noncombustible Material Approval” for usage

We positively work on authorized acquisition activity in cooperation with our customer. In addition, not only the sheet which caught the approval but also the offers such as thick-sheet, forging material and etc. are possible. And we can satisfy your wide requirement that there are the products with various dimensions such as flooring materials, covers and etc. as well as ceiling materials.

Excellent merits in AZX comparison with AZ31

AZX sheet does not ignite with 600℃ flame

High tensile strength

Excellence in corrosion resistance

Possible to perform various finishing on its surface

Excellence in thermal stability of crystalline structure
(The crystalline structure does not enlarge easily even if AZX sheet is annealed)

Examples for workpiece by AZX sheet

It is possible to perform warm press forming for AZX sheet which Gonda metal developed as much as AZ61 and AZ31, moreover, also possible to perform welding for joining, and possible to perform plating and coating for surface treatment. The sheet material, finished with rolling and grinding, of 0.5mm to 3.0mm in thickness of 600mm in width can be offered.
